A strand of 38+ beads. Made from Onyx and are black in colour. These smooth plain round beads are machine cut. They are 10mm in size with a fully drilled 1mm hole across the middle. Actual product colour may vary dependant on screen capabilities & settings.Onyx is a variety of Chalcedony and gets its name from ’onux’, the Greek word for fingernail. It is found in Brazil, Uruguay, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, India, Hawaii and Madagascar. Natural Onyx is simply a black and white banded variety of Quartz allied to Agate, but is also found in jet black and green varieties . Onyx was used to make bowls and other pottery items in Egypt as early as the Second Dynasty . Onyx is thought to give strength, promote vigour, steadfastness and stamina and impart self-confidence.
