Apatite is a calcium phosphate and is quite a rare form of Tourmaline . Apatite can be opaque, translucent, or transparent and its colours range from white to green, brown, yellow, and even violet. It’s named after the Greek word ‘apatao’, which means to deceive. This is because Apatite’s chemical composition almost imitates the chemical composition of many other stones and this leads to it often being confused with other Gemstones, such as Aquamarine and Fluorite.
