Packet 2200+ White/Pale Blue Glass circa 5-20mm x 2mm AB Bugle Seed Beads Y12710
“Seed Bead” is a generic term for small tube-shaped glass beads with a relatively large hole size. Around 1490 Venetian glassmakers rediscovered the method of making beads by drawing molten glass into long hollow tubes. These long tubes are then cut into small sections called cane, sorted for size and then cut again into the final bead. Seed beads range in size from under a millimetre to several millimetres. Usually rounded at the edges, seed beads are most commonly used for weaving or embroidery. They may also be used for simple stringing and as spacers between other beads in jewellery.
